Welcome Edith Cripps

10/10/08

As some of you have heard our baby daughter Edith Cripps took us by surprise and decided to be born 4 weeks early.

I was actually over at Nine Four… with Nathan and got a call at about 11:30 saying I’d better come home. Nathan kindly raced me to the train station… only for me to find there were delays!! I finally got home at 13:00. On my arrival there was a paramedic in the house along with my mum and (obviously) partner Abi…

and…

Abi was pushing!! Yes we were well and truly on the way to giving birth to our first child at home!

The contractions and pushing continued for an hour and two mid-wife’s along with 3 more paramedics (plus ambulance) arrived. Poor Abi by this time was exhausted, could push no more and the contractions died down. To my relief they then briskly got her off to hospital.

Once in hospital surrounded by all the staff we both calmed down and concentrated on the task in hand…

16:07 – A few big breaths and monstrous strength by Abi and Edith Alexandra Cripps was born, healthy and well.

That was two weeks ago and its tiring but amazing. Being a geek, I bought the domain Edith Cripps as edie’s keeping us busy I’ve forwarded the domain to my flickr account
