?uestion Mark & The Mysterians

13/06/06

I heard a great tune the other day on I heard a great tune the other day on 6music and it made me think it’s about time to pull my thumb out and create my wants list.

So here’s the first post:

Title: “96 Tears”
Artist: ?uestion Mark & The Mysterians
Album: n/a 7” single
Label: Cameo

Since the post… I’ve been, what fellow vinyl junkies will fully understand… “Digging”. After weeks of searching I finally found a copy on eBay. Being the loyal bloke I am I popped to see my “local dealer”, Chris at Vinyl Revival in Newbury to see if she had a copy or could give me and idea of the current list price? To my surprise it went for around £25 if it was the original in mint condition on cameo records, or £10 if it was mint on London records.

Unfortunately, Chris didn’t have a copy, so I legged it home to check out the eBay on I’d seen… to my delight it was a Cameo copy with 12 hours left, and with a starting bid of £9.99.

Checking out my space that evening, I noticed ?uestion mark is still going, and on-line, so I requested him as a friend, and pop he accepted, so why not email him direct asking for a copy?

“A 7” copy is a hard find”

The next day I’d forgotten all about it till my reminder on my phone went off… but we were about to go out (DIY on a Sunday, anyone would think I’m and old man reading this!). WHAT DO I DO?! Luckily Abi let me dib, there was 45 mins left and NO bidders?! So I thought what the hell, stick a bid in for £10, and get over to B&Q making it back in time for the final bids…

… we were running late and missed the final bids, but who won… Me.
